Background Mike Harrison I am an admitted attorney and conveyancer and hold the B Com, LLB Degrees and a post Graduate Certificate in Corporate Law. In February 2004 I established my firm, Harrison Attorneys, as a specialist legal services provider to the South African Exploration and Mining Industry. We are a small, niche practice able to offer a dedicated and high-level service within our area of speciality.
Experience and Scope I have 17 years' legal experience as an attorney, the first 4 years of which were spent in general legal practice and the last 13 years exclusively in the area of South Africa mining and property law. During my 13-year period in mining law, I have served as in-house Legal Counsel to De Beers Consolidated Mines Limited and as an attorney in Werksmans Incorporated’s Mining Law Department. Having worked in the exploration and mining industry for a number of years and for both a large mining house and corporate law firm, I believe I have developed a good sense of the needs and legal requirements of exploration and mining companies and therefore believe that I am able to offer a unique and valuable service in this area.
